John Roberson, DMD

A Hattiesburg native with a heart for patient care, Dr. John Roberson, DMD, leads our practice with a servant’s attitude. Dr. Roberson’s specialized skill set allows him to perform complicated oral-maxillofacial procedures with the potential to change patients’ lives. “I can’t imagine serving a community more vibrant than Hattiesburg,” Dr. Roberson says. “At Midtown Oral & Facial surgery, I can live my passion of helping patients put their Fresh Face Forward.”

Dr. Roberson received his DMD from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry, where he served as president of the American Student Dental Association and received the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons award for outstanding performance and excellence in undergraduate oral surgery. After completing his residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center–where his training included dentoalveolar surgery, anesthesia, implants, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma, reconstructive surgery, TMJ, oral medicine & pathology, cleft lip & palate surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, and skin rejuvenation–Dr. Roberson started his practice in Hattiesburg.

“Here, we can bring the very best in oral and maxillofacial care to our patients,” Dr. Roberson said, “In our Midtown location, it has never been more convenient for our patients to receive top-of-the-line care right here in the Pine Belt.” Dedicated to continuing education and adhering to industry standards, Dr. Roberson is a member of the American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, American Dental Association, Mississippi Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Mississippi Dental Association, and the South Mississippi Dental Association. He is an active member of Heritage United Methodist Church and enjoys spending time with his wife, Melanie, and their daughter and son, Maggie and Boone.

Brian Jackson, DMD, MD

One of the few Dual Degree doctors in Mississippi, Dr. Jackson brings a highly specialized skill set to the Hattiesburg community. Dr. Jackson received his DMD and MD in 2014 and 2017, respectively, from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. After completing his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at UMMC and an OsteoScience clinical observership in Atlanta, Dr. Jackson is now prepared to execute several complicated, cutting-edge procedures that patients in this area have not been able to receive until his arrival.

Starting this July, Dr. Jackson will be doing complex implant cases (such as Zygomatic implants and Pterygoid implants for those with no bone in their upper jaws), nerve repair, and state-of-the-art “Teeth in a Day” operations. “Teeth in a Day” involves a collaborative effort between the surgeon, lab, and general dentist that takes four to six hours, in which patients can leave the office with a complete set of new, fixed teeth.

Dr. Jackson has always been interested in dentistry, and, after working for a pediatric dentist and then an oral surgeon, he became fascinated by the surgical side of oral health. Now, he is eager to serve the Hattiesburg community by offering several new procedures to patients in the area. “At Midtown Oral & Facial Surgery, my goal is to come in alongside Dr. Roberson and build upon his practice,” Dr. Jackson said. “My end goal is to have this practice be an absolute, full-scope oral and maxillofacial practice. We will run the entire scope of the oral-maxillofacial practice, from simple surgical procedures all the way to nerve repair and full arch implant restorations.”

Dr. Jackson has participated in medical-dental missions to Haiti and looks forward to getting connected to a church and a missions group in Hattiesburg. He has been married for 12 years and has three daughters (10, 7, and 1).
